Star men Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler are going into the Ryder Cup in fine form.

With fine-tuning for the Bethpage showdown now complete, here’s how each of the 21 Ryder Cup players finished at the BMW PGA and Procore Championships…

Twenty-one of the 24 players who will make up the two teams at the Ryder Cup later this month were in action this week.

Eleven of Luke Donald’s European team teed up in the DP World Tour’s flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, while 10 of Keegan Bradley’s men in red, white and blue got their competitive reps in 5,000 miles away at Silverado, California, where the Procore Championship took place.

Only Sepp Straka, Bryson DeChambeau and Xander Schauffele did not play for a variety of reasons.

How did they get on? Here’s a combined table…

So, what can we learn from this?

Well, both captains will largely be happy – with Rasmus Hojgaard providing the only real headache for Captain Donald. But Matt Fitzpatrick’s recent form will be particularly pleasing.

It will leave him wondering if he should have picked Alex Noren, though. The Swede, who will be part of Team Europe as a vice-captain, triumphed at Wentworth for his second title in a month and is arguably the most in-form European player at the moment.

As for Captain Bradley, he will be incredibly happy to see his star man going to Bethpage with yet another win under his belt. Scottie Scheffler edged out Ben Griffin at Silverado for his sixth trophy of the season – though the runner-up missed a short putt at the 72nd hole that would have forced a playoff. Not what you want on your mind heading to a Ryder Cup.

As with Donald, though, will he regret leaving Patrick Reed at home? The artist formerly known as ‘Captain America’ finished in the top-three at Wentworth – beating the entire European team in the process.

Right, onto Bethpage!
