Travis Perkins is Sam Burns' caddie.

He’s a multiple PGA Tour winner and Ryder Cup star. But who is Sam Burns’ caddie?

Sam Burns, from Louisiana, turned professional in 2017. He earned his first PGA Tour victory at the 2021 Valspar Championship and has since added multiple titles, including the 2023 WGC Match Play. By 2025, Burns had established himself as a consistent contender and U.S. Ryder Cup team member. But who is Sam Burns’ caddie? Let’s find out.

Who is Sam Burns’ caddie?

Travis Perkins has been the long-time and only full-time caddie for Sam Burns since Burns turned professional. Before that, Burns did not have a permanent looping partner.

A lifelong golf fan, Perkins grew up immersed in the sport and later played collegiate golf at Florida Southern College. While he was a capable player, his career path shifted toward caddying.

Early in his caddie career he worked with Kris Blanks, and later for DA Points, including during Points’s victory at the 2013 Shell Houston Open. He has also carried bags for Scott Piercy, Aaron Wise, Brandt Snedeker, and Cameron Tringale, before committing full-time to Sam Burns in 2019.

Since joining Burns, Perkins has been a significant contributor to his success. Burns secured his first PGA Tour win with Perkins in the 2021 Valspar Championship. Not long after, that same year, Perkins was on the bag when Burns won the Sanderson Farms Championship. One of their notable wins together is the 2023 WGC-Match Play at Austin Country Club.

Perkins is not just a caddie in name – he is credited with helping Burns perform well in majors and high-pressure scenarios. Under his guidance, Burns recorded a top-10 finish at the 2024 Open at Royal Troon, and in the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont, Burns held a one-shot lead heading into the final round.
