If you’d bet $50 on Scottie Scheffler to win every event since 2024, this is how much you’d have won

Scottie Scheffler has dominated golf over the past two seasons – but how profitable has it been for anyone betting on him to win every week?
I’m not much of a betting man – a part-time job at a bookie’s while I was in school kind of ruined the magic – but I don’t mind the occasional flutter on the golf. Having some skin in the game just makes watching the action a little more interesting (and Sunday a bit more stressful).
And I normally do okay. I’m in profit at The Masters over the last 20-odd years and my each-way Open tip Harry Hall (110/1) looked good for a long time.
But I rarely back the favorite. The amounts I’m betting simply aren’t enough to make that worthwhile.
At least, that’s what I thought. But the relentless brilliance of Scottie Scheffler might just force me to reconsider that strategy.
The World No.1 has now won 12 times since the beginning of 2024. That’s a stretch prime Tiger Woods would be fairly happy with.
Scheffler has been the favorite in almost all of those events – and second-favorite in the rest – so the single-week returns aren’t huge. But when he wins as often as he does, it all adds up.
Here are Scheffler’s victories in 2024 and 2025 (so far), with his odds at the start of play:
TOURNAMENT | MONEYLINE ODDS | FRACTIONAL ODDS |
2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational | +650 | 13/2 |
2024 Players Championship | +500 | 5/1 |
2024 Masters Tournament | +325 | 13/4 |
2024 RBC Heritage | +400 | 4/1 |
2024 Memorial Tournament | +350 | 7/2 |
2024 Travelers Championship | +350 | 7/2 |
2024 Olympic Men’s Golf | +400 | 4/1 |
2024 Hero World Challenge | +250 | 5/2 |
2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson | +270 | 11/5 |
2025 PGA Championship | +550 | 11/2 |
2025 Memorial Tournament | +280 | 3/1 |
2025 Open Championship | +500 | 5/1 |
Had you bet $50 on Scheffler to win every tournament since January 2024, you’d have placed 36 bets and won 12 of them.
At the above odds, your total winnings would come to $2,372.50. You’d get your stake back for those 12 wins, taking your total to $2,972.50.
But, even though it often feels like it, Scheffler doesn’t win every week.
You’d have lost your money 24 times, setting you back $1,200.
Still, that leaves you $1,772.50 in profit, which is a 98.47% ROI – significantly better than any savings account, and much more entertaining.
The moral of the story? Backing the favorite might not be exciting, but when that favorite is Scottie Scheffler, it might just be smart.
Oh, and the other moral of the story? Going for the riskier, more fun picks might be less savvy. My each-way bet on Harry Hall? He bogeyed the last two holes to finish T28.
