Discover the full field for the 2025 Scottish Open, featuring top stars like Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler – and get the scoop on the new ‘stadium hole’ fan experience.
The Scottish Open is always one of the highlights on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour calendars. It’s a Rolex Series event, with $9 million in prize money up for grabs, but that’s not the only reason it’s so attractive to the world’s best players.
Coming a week before The Open Championship, it’s the perfect opportunity to attune your game to links golf ahead of the year’s final major.
It therefore always boasts one of the strongest fields of the year – and 2025 is no different.
Eight of the world’s top 10 players and 13 of the top 20 will be in action at The Renaissance Club when the tournament kicks off on 10 July. That includes the winners of this year’s three majors – Rory McIlroy, world No.1 Scottie Scheffler, and JJ Spaun – and reigning Open Champion, Xander Schauffele.
Other major champions in the field include Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Padraig Harrington, Wyndham Clark, Matt Fitzpatrick, Brian Harman, Francesco Molinari, Justin Rose, Danny Willett, and Gary Woodland.
World No.14 Robert MacIntyre returns to defend the title he won in dramatic fashion last year, alongside Adam Scott, who finished runner-up.

Scottish Open goes all-in on ‘stadium hole’
As if the Scottish Open wasn’t shaping up to be appetizing enough already, the par-3 6th hole will be a special experience this year.
Last year’s Scottish Open introduced a ‘stadium hole’ experience, which quickly became a must-visit spot for fans, but it will go even further this time.
The short hole will be surrounded by grandstands, screens and platforms, including a new children’s viewing area, an expanded Ticket+ offering, and a Genesis public lounge featuring a TGL simulator.
A hole-in-one competition means that if a fan correctly predicts the first player to get an ace on the sixth hole, the player will win a Genesis GV60, while the fan will win a VIP experience at the Genesis Championship in Korea, including business class return flights and accommodation.
Whether we’ll get a shower of Tennent’s lager and an atmosphere to rival the 16th at the Waste Management Open remains to be seen.
