Mimi Rhodes made a crazy hole-in-one at the AIG Women’s Open, with a little help from Steph Kyriacou’s golf ball.
There was a moment of brilliance, and a touch of luck, at the AIG Women’s Open when Steph Kyriacou and Mimi Rhodes turned the par-3 5th hole into a stage for one of the tournaments most memorable highlights.
Australia’s Steph Kyriacou delivered a moment of brilliance during the final round of the 2025 tournament, striking a superb tee shot on the par-3 5th hole at Royal Porthcawl, that settled just an inch from the cup, agonizingly close to a hole-in-one. Moments later, England’s Mimi Rhodes stepped up and produced an even more dramatic result. Her tee shot clipped Kyriacou’s ball and, with a friendly deflection, rolled straight into the hole.
Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, perched on the rugged Welsh coastline, is known for its breathtaking ocean views and punishing links layout. The 5th hole, a deceptively tricky par-3, tests even the world’s best players with its shifting wind conditions and subtle elevation changes.
