Plugged Lie In A Bunker

The ‘fried egg’ is one of the nastiest lies in a bunker you’ll find. When the golf ball is buried beneath the surface of the sand you have to throw your traditional bunker shot technique out of the window. This is the time to focus on getting the golf ball out. Lee Scarbrow has some helpful hints to make sure you escape from those buried bunker lies.

Step One:
Place ball more central in the stance, this will encourage a steeper downswing that will attack the sand.

Step Two:
Place slightly more bodyweight on your front leg. Again, this will encourage a steeper downswing that will help dig the ball out of the sand.

Step Three:
Aim about an inch behind the ball and make sure you carry your club through.
