Approach Zone – Punch Shot

When hitting into the wind, the best shot to use in this situation is the punch shot, where you reduce the loft of the club at impact to keep the ball flight low and underneath the wind.

As Approach Zone Instructor Adrian Fryer explains in this golf video tip, a great way to achieve this is by using the ‘drag and lag’ technique.

Accompany this with a curtailed swing and smooth tempo to reduce the spin and you can get right back to the pin when the wind is in your face.
