USPGA 2008 | Harrington in all-star group

Padraig Harrington has been placed in an all-star trio for the opening two rounds of this week’s USPGA Championship at Oakland Hills.

The Irishman will tee off for his first round from the tenth alongside Masters champion Trevor Immelman and 2007 US Open winner Angel Cabrera at 8:15 local time (13:15 BST).

At the same time Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie, who will be hoping to boost his Ryder Cup hopes this week, goes off alongside American Jim Furyk and Australia’s Aaron Baddeley from the first tee.

England’s Paul Casey will begin his PGA challenge alongside popular American Boo Weekley and Spain’s Pablo Larrazabal in the group before Montgomerie.

Europe’s Sergio Garcia, who is among the favourites to lift the title this week, goes off from the tenth at 8:25 local time (13:25 BST).

Lee Westwood partners Geoff Ogilvy and Zach Johnson in another big-name group at 8:35 local time (13:35 BST), with joint-favourite Phil Mickelson in the following group with fellow Americans Davis Love III and Rich Beem.

Two of the other main English challengers tee off slightly later, with Open Championship runner-up Ian Poulter joining the United States’ Chad Campbell and South African Rory Sabbatini on the tenth at 9.05 local time (14:05 BST).

And Justin Rose will be in the group before Poulter, teeing off at 8.55 local time (13:55 BST) with another South African, Retief Goosen, and American Kenny Perry
