2008 looks like being a top year for drivers with all the major golf club manufacturers launching new products for us to choose from.
Picking the right driver for you has never been more difficult and so our golf equipment team has hand picked several of 2008’s star drivers and pitted them against each other in our first Driver World Cup to help you decide.
Over the next seven weeks we’ll be bringing you a video each Friday pitting them against each other in a knockout style competition to find the best of the bunch.
To decide on the winner we brought along three golfer’s with different abilities: TG’s Simon Penson, playing off 24, PGA Pro Dan Frost and 10 handicapper and TG reader Ian Witch all of whom will be hitting each of the drivers.
The names of each driver were put into a hat to pair each of the eight drivers into four two on two first round matches and the winner of each match went through to the semi finals.
We’ll be publishing a match each Friday on www.todays-golfer.com starting with our first, the Srixon Z-RW V Cobra’s L4V, which can be seen by scrolling down now.
