Raphael Jacquelin won the BMW Asian Open as many of the top contenders fell away when it came to the crunch.

The gutsy Frenchman held on for a 73 to finish at 10 under. That was enough to clinch his first win in over two years.

Simon Yates struggled to a 74 and ended seven under in third place. Ernie Els was another big name expected to make it hard for the overnight leader, but he too could not get on a birdie run and ended with a 72 to finish tied fifth.

It was even worse for Colin Montgomerie. The Scot had given himself a chance going into the final round but laboured to a disappointing 77. That left him down in a tie for 15th.
