Ernie Els missed out at the Verizon Heritage by one shot to Boo Weekley.

The big South African has struggled since injuring his knee last year, but looked set to record his first win on the US Tour for three years.

But little-known Weekley had other ideas. Els finished 13 under, but was pipped by Weekley. Stephen Leaney started the final day yesterday on a mission and was 6 under after 10 holes.

But he fell away as Weekley kept his cool. Masters winner Zach Johnson was impressive again and ended tied fifth.
