Apr4 Quigleyreturns

American Brett Quigley is planning to fly back to Augusta tonight to play in his first Masters – just hours after his wife gives birth to their first child.

Quigley had to leave the course halfway through a practice round on Tuesday after his wife Amy went into labour at their home in Florida. Doctors say the baby should be born some time today (Wednesday).

But the rookie didn’t withdraw from the tournament – and if everything goes to plan, he will back to make his 2.03pm tee time with Vijay Singh.

Quigley said: “This is a very accommodating baby! Our prayers are that everything goes well and both Amy and baby are fine. I hope to get back to Augusta on Wednesday or Thursday morning.”
