Apr7 Rose Saturday audio

Justin Rose says he feels more confident than ever going into the final round of the 2007 Masters just one shot off the lead.

The Brit will go out in the penultimate group on Saturday, and says that events during the last couple of years – including the death of his father – will help to put the magnitude of his position into perspective.

He said: “Some of the changes I’ve made deliberately to prepare for situations like this, such as changing coaches and caddies. But others – like the passing of my father – you can’t prepare for, and things like that just show you that golf is there to be enjoyed.”

Rose finished round three at +3 – the same number as Tiger Woods. But he just missed out on going out in the last group because Woods got in the clubhouse first.

Even so, all eyes will be on the world number one, and his chances of winning his fifth Green Jacket – though that doesn’t bother Rose.

He added: “Going out there with a chance to win is the challenge tomorrow.”
