Today’s Golfer is on the lookout for the greatest finishing hole in the UK.
After scouring the country for this great golfing land’s most awesome par 3 hole (see the October issue of TG for the results), we’ve now turned our attentions on the most magical 18th hole.

And, to be honest, there should be no shortage of nominations: the 18th hole on most courses tend to be pretty strong as course designers endeavour to bow out with a bang rather than a whimper.
They can be remembered for all kinds of different reasons too as they can be the scene of so much golfing triumph or disaster with The Belfry’s dramatic finale, which has witnessed more than its share of Ryder Cup joy and despair down the years, a prime example.
We expect the Brabazon course’s finale to be right up there but we’re convinced there’s plenty of other cracking 18th holes out there to give it more than a good run for its money…
