World number two Jim Furyk has admitted his chances of playing in this week’s USPGA Championship are getting slimmer.
The American was forced to pull out of last week’s WGC Bridgestone Invitational due to a back problem, and the 37-year-old has revealed that although the injury is better, it’s not improving quickly enough.
He said: “I’m stiff. It’s better but if I don’t keep getting better each day, I would say that it’s unlikely that I will play.”
The 89th USPGA starts on Thursday at Southern Hills in Tulsa. World number one Tiger Woods is the defending champion.
