Aug23 Murray drink

Bill Murray, who starred in hit golf movie Caddyshack, has been tested for drink-driving after being stopped in a golf buggy he was riding in Stockholm.

Police Commander Jan-Olov Lundgren told Reuters that the 56-year-old actor was taken to a police station after he refused to give a breath sample.

“He said in the United States you don’t have to do it. He was very calm and friendly.”

Murray could face a prison sentence if the test results, due back in a fortnight, reveal very high levels of alcohol. But Detective Inspector Christer Holmlund said that a fine was a more likely outcome, if indeed Murray exceeded the limit.

“There were no obvious signs, like when someone is really tipsy,” revealed Holmlund

Murray, who also starred in Groundhog Day, was attending the Scandinavian Masters.
