dec11 cleveland hibore xls driver fairway wood hybrid

Cleveland Golf has unveiled three new golf clubs for 2008 – the HiBORE XLS driver, HiBORE XLS fairway wood and HiBORE XLS hybrid.

TG is the first magazine in Europe to get our hands on the new golf clubs, which replace the Cleveland HiBore XL and we can officially reveal the some of technology behind them…

The Cleveland HiBORE XLS driver, which is also available in a draw version too, features what Cleveland calls its three magic S’s.
SIZE – The XLS driver has the largest clubface Cleveland has ever made – 17% bigger then its predecessor, the HiBORE XL. Full Face Performance (FFP) extends the ‘hot zone’ across a larger portion of the face, so even your mishits fly a long way.
STABILITY – The clubhhead size has been pushed to the maximum USGA & R&A limits giving it a really high Moment of Inertia (MOI), so that it is incredibly forgiving. Weight has been added to the perimeter of the clubhead in the form of “stabilty foils” to keep the club stable as you strike the ball, sending it much straighter down the fairway.
SIGHT – A large sightline on the crown of the club make it really easy to align to the target at address.

The Cleveland HiBORE XLS fairway wood shares the same three key features – stability, size and sight. The head is 24% larger than the original HiBORE fairway wood increasing the MOI for more stability and accurate shots.

The final addition to the new Cleveland HiBORE XLS range is the hybrid. Aimed at the golfer looking for a really easy-to-use long iron replacement, the HiBORE XLS hybrid is offset to help you hit straighter shots but has a tour-style symmetrical shape that will appeal to a wider market.

The new Cleveland Golf HiBORE XLS products will be available in shops early next spring. The driver is priced at £249 (£299 for the Tour version); the fairway wood £139 and the hybrid £109.

Check out the next issue of Today’s Golfer magazine (out January 10th) for the first official test and amazing images of the new Cleveland HiBORE XLS range.
