Feb7 PingGoldaward

Ping’s G5 irons have continued their success by capturing TG’s Gold award for March, beating off the Callaway X-20 in Silver and the Mizuno MX-25 in Bronze places.

Manufacturers were asked to supply their standard-specification 2007 game-improvement irons. All the 6-irons were hit on a chilly day by a pro, James Frow, and his shots were tracked on a FlightScope. All the clubs were also hit by amateur testers.

The G5 topped TG’s game-improvement irons test last year, and nothing has changed, proving they are as good as ever, competing against more expensive models on an equal footing. From long to short irons, the whole set is really well proportioned and is just as suited to a decent golfer looking for an ultimate forgiving set as it is to the beginner or 20+ handicapper.

The full test is available in the March issue of TG, on sale now. To see the full G5 review, CLICK HERE
