Rife were paying people to use their putters at the Orlando Golf Show.

Anyone who holed five consecutive putts got $20 and then another £5 for every holed putt after that. What they didn’t expect was one lady to hit 85 on the trot. That cost them £420!

The company has many star players using its pouters, including England’s Justin Rose and it boasts that it does not pay a single Tour player to use their products. Danny Day, of Rife, said: “If we keep getting people holing 80 putts, it may be cheaper to pay the Tour guys!

“We never expected more than a dozen or so consecutive putts to go in, but it just goes to show that when you’re using a Rife putter, anything is possible.”
