Zara Phillips, the current World Equestrian Games gold medallist, heads a star-studded ‘cast’ in this weekend’s Chivas Snow Golf Championship in St Moritz.
Princess Royal Anne’s daughter’s appearance forms part of a new two-year sponsorship deal that will see Zara making a number of personal appearances at Chivas Regal events around the world.
She said: “I’m really looking forward to attending the Chivas Snow Golf Championship – apparently the course is spectacular and very cool.
“I’m a novice golfer but I’m looking forward to a new challenge… and the odd snow golf lesson from the professionals.
Golf’s coolest tournament is set in the luxurious surroundings of St Moritz and will boast a field of over 75 competitors from 12 countries.
Also playing in the shadow of the stunning Corvatsch mountain in St Moritz, will be champion jockey Frankie Dettori who will be battling it out in the men’s amateur competition.
Dettori revealed: “I’m a keen golfer and can’t wait to get out onto the course. I have been practicing my putting but know I will need ice-cool nerves on this course”
Among those playing in the Competing in the Men’s Professional event will be former Ryder Cup star Costantino Rocca, European Tour player Lee Slattery and BBC golf commentator Paul Eales.
