Richie Ramsay and Lloyd Saltman, two of Scotland’s finest amateur players, will join many of Europe’s finest up-and-coming professional stars at the Scottish Challenge.

The appearance of Ramsay and Saltman in the event, with the third highest prize fund on the 2007 Challenge Tour, will be a huge boost and should draw large crouds in.

Ramsey, who finished fourth in the 2006 Scottish Challenge, became the first Scotsman since 1898 to win the US Amatuer Championship – a prize that has also been won by the likes of Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus. Because of this achievement, he earnt entry into this season’s Masters Tournament and US Open Championship.

Saltman, who won the Silver Medal as the leading amateur at the 2005 Open Championship by finishing 15th, has had a great start to the 2007 season, winning four titles, including the world renowned Lytham Trophy.

Both players featured in the Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup Team in 2005, and are part of the 20 man squad for this years amateur golf’s Ryder
