KJ Choi and Tiger Woods are heading the pack at Carnoustie The Open halfway through the morning on the opening day (Thursday).
Choi got off to a blistering start with four birdies in the opening six holes. He bogeyed seven but still finished the front nine at three under. Woods has made an eagle and a birdie to stay just one off the pace.
Justin Rose got off to a great start but went in the water at the third and is no fighting to get back to two under.
A lot of players have yet to start their opening round, but the course looks nothing like the beast that got nicknamed Car-Nasty when The Open was last played here in 1999.
