It’s all change at The Belfry. Well, that’s the plan anyway…
Belfry owners, the Quinn Group, have announced ambitious plans for a major redevelopment of the world-famous Ryder Cup venue.
The multi-million pound project centres on creating a new Belfry hotel with accommodation comprising 500 luxurious rooms and a new leisure complex including swimming pool, gym, spa and treatment facilities. There will even be underground car parking available whioch should definitely please the environmentalists.
While most of the changes are off the golf course – The Belfry is the home of three 18 hole layouts of course – the proposals also include plans to create new PGA facilities as well as a swish new clubhouse.
Belfry general manager Nigel Gray commented: “These proposals for The Belfry mark a major step forward in our aim of providing customers with a world-class experience. These exciting plans to create the only five-star hotel in the Midlands offer an opportunity to develop a new hotel that provides state-of-the-art facilities, whilst retaining the charm our customers associate with the ivy-clad façade of the hotel. “
The new clubhouse will reflect the iconic façade of the existing hotel building and complement the new hotel development to its rear.
The new hotel will be set in newly landscaped surroundings, improving the overall ecology of the area and providing a stunning backdrop for the new development.
