Nick Dougherty is still showing the form that took him so close to US Open glory with a blistering 68 in the second round of the BMW Open in Germany.

Englishman Dougherty is in second place at eight under, but a lot of players have yet to complete their second round.

Dougherty finished tied seventh at last week’s US Open at Oakmont and even led after the opening round.

He is showing fresh maturity on the course and is hitting a new level of consistency.

Swede Peter Hanson is leading at 10 under after shooitng a 66 earlier today (Friday). Paul Casey ahs also finished his second round and is currently tied sixth at six under.

Ernie Els has had a shaky start to his day with a bogey at the first. That’s dropped him to four under and a tie for 26th. He’ll be hoping to get his round back on track and close up on the leaders.
