Jay Haas shot a final-round 66 to win the Bank of America Championship, finishing at 13-under Sunday and earning his fourth victory of the year when overnight leader Tom Purtzer collapsed on the back nine.

Purtzer took a three-stroke lead into the last day and made the turn at 12 under-par over the 6,741-yard, par-72 Nashawtuc Country Club. But the two-time runner-up bogeyed three straight holes and then double-bogeyed the par-3 17th after putting his tee shot in the water.

Haas made the turn at 11-under and picked up a pair of birdies on the back nine to complete his bogey-free round.

Purtzer was the tournament’s runner-up in 2004 and ’05; he finished fourth in his first trip to Concord in 2003. Last year’s event was wiped out by rain and flooding – the Champions Tour’s first complete cancellation since the Sept 11 attacks.
