Scotsman Gary Orr has been forced to withdraw from the French Open due to back pains.
The 40-year-old shot an opening round 71 on Thursday but could only manage two and a half holes on Friday before opting not to risk making the injury worse.
He told the BBC: “I don’t know what I did, but I hurt it warming up. This is a big week but there are more coming up and I’ve got the Open qualifying at Sunningdale on Monday. I’m hoping I’ll be Ok for that.”
South African James Kamte and Welshman Kyron Sullivan led the tournament after the first round on six-under-par.
