In 1947, with a total score of 293 around Hoylake, Fred Daly was the only Irishman from either side of the border to have won The Open – a record he held until July this year, when Padraig Harrington won at Carnoustie. The famous Daly name has now returned to the game that began the story…
As three times British Matchplay Champion and only the second man in the 20th Century to do the double of the Open and the Matchplay, Fred’s record speaks for itself. He was however, equally skilled off the course and worked alongside a number of leading manufacturers to design the clubs he played with – and put his name on.
Over the years this skill and passion for excellence has been developed – and today, with Fred’s son Robin, Daly Golf has launched the Precision range of putters.
A Professional himself of 25 years, Robin is excited to be bringing the Daly name back to International Golf…
“I am very proud to be able to continue my father’s craftsmanship, and bring modern technology to the club design”
Daly Golf have recently been on a tour of the UK to promote there full range of putters through American Golf stores, offering a custom fit service and the opportunity to speak to the creator Robin Daly the son of Fred, and get a really good insight to the thoughts behind the design.
‘The demo – day tour has been very successful for us, I am pleased to say we have kept the momentum up throughout the trip, and have been received very well by both the store staff and the golfing public!’ ( Alan Boyd – Daly Golf )
