May 15 turkeylinks

Turkey is already a recognised golfing destination but is set to become even bigger and better later this year with the opening of the country’s first links course.

October should mark the opening of LykiaGolf – Turkey’s first-ever links layout which sits on a 100 hectare site on the majestic Mediterranean coast of Antalya. Not only will it feature an 18-hole par 72 championship course it will also offer a nine-hole par 27 academy layout.

Both courses have been designed by Perry Dye, son of famed American course architect Pete Dye and although the championship course will obviously be the main attraction, the nine holer will be pretty interesting too – it will include a 7th hole island green.

LykiaGolf will be complemented by LykiaWorld Antalya, a quality resort providing accommodation and extensive leisure facilities.
