May 31 Mickelson out

Three-time Major winner Phil Mickelson has been forced to withdraw from the Memorial Tournament in Ohio due to injury.

The World No 2 was two over par after 11 holes of his opening round when a problematic left wrist led to him leaving the course.

The 36-year-old told the Associated Press: “I don’t think it’s anything serious but it just got worse. I couldn’t grab the club and I couldn’t swing. I hit a wedge on two and it got really aggravated.”
