Paul Lawrie and Brett Rumford share the lead at the Wales Open after finishing their rounds before play was suspended.

Torrential rain has brought the event to a halt, but the two leaders managed to get in the clubhouse with four-under-par 65s.

Michael Campbell is another who finished before the rains, posting a three-under 66 at Celtic Manor.

Former Open champion Lawrie, who will return tlo the scene of his Major triumph in July, said: “I had a good feeling today. I wish the Open could happen soon so we can get on with it.” The Open starts at Carnoustie on July 19.
