2009 Mizuno Equipment Launch

Mizuno has been producing top-drawer clubs for years, especially in the irons department. But they’ve pushed themselves to the limit yet again with the launch of four brand new models – the Mizuno MX100, Mizuno MX200, Mizuno MP52 and Mizuno MP62.

In short, the new Mizuno MP62, MP52, MX200 and MX100 are replacing the exisitng MP and MX models, with the Mizuno design wizards hell-bent on giving the golfer more feel with the club in hand.

Mizuno’s research into feel pinpointed ‘vibration’ as one of the key human criteria for evaluating feel.  Using a system of ‘Frequency Analysis’ Mizuno’s engineers established a pattern of vibrations that best communicated pure impact and set to enhance them within in each iron head.

David Llewellyn R&D Manager for Mizuno USA led the project, “The key characteristic of Mizuno’s irons has always been their unique soft feel.  The key ingredient is our one-piece Grain Flow Forging process, but we wanted to search more deeply into how material interacted with design.”
