Popular Surrey venue Selsdon Park Hotel & GC is undergoing a major refurbishment to restore the highly acclaimed course to it former glories,
Selsdon is steeped in history, having been designed by four-times Open champion J.H. Taylor, a founder member of the PGA. However, it has suffered somewhat in recent times but that is all set to change when the newlook layout opens on April 1.
Renovation to the course – set in 205 acres of splendid Surrey countryside – began in January and has involved green and tee resotoration, bunker repair plus a programme of woodland management including extensive flower and tree planting and re-defining of all fairway and rough lines. There will also be a new practice area and Bob Torrance teaching academy.
Promised Director of Golf Chris Baron: “Selsdon Park will be one of Surrey’s premier golfing venues once again.”
In addition, over £6m has been splashed out on the on-site hotel’s facilities to ensure it is a major luxury stay and play ‘player.’
