A stunning new course designed by Jack Nicklaus is about to open in Portugal.
Located in the eastern Algarve, Monte Rei is poised to open in spring.
The Nicklaus signature design will measure 7,200 yards from the back tees, with the dramatic layout featuring five lakes and offering wonderful views of the sea against a backdrop of the Serra do Caldierao mountains.
Nicklaus has created courses all over the world, but he quickly realised Monte Rei’s potential and is confident it will develop into a masterpiece, and one of his best yet.
The really good news is that Monte Rei will be adopting an open door policy, though it’s likely to cost you about £130 for the privilege.
