Nike like other manufacturers are acutely aware that square drivers aren’t everybodies cup of tea. Theres always a traditionalist golfer who wants their big stick to look like a traditional round headed driver. So with the new Nike Sumo 5000 they reckon they’ve done their absolute best at wringing ever last drop of performance out of a normal shaped driver head.
The 460cc Nike Sumo 5000 driver head has been specifically designed to increase a golfer’s ball speed, meaning you should hit them further! This is achieved by the cup face design which helps maintain golf ball speeds when you don’t hit shots on the centre of the face. And means even miss hits go further. The golf ball speed story is also boosted by a new super lightweight shaft which weighs in at just 55 grams. Which will enable you to generate plenty of driver head speed as it comes in at 3/4” longer than most other standard drivers.
Nike have made some excellent equipment over the past few years. From where we’re standing consumers are starting to realise they’re serious about being a major player in the golf industry. And we reckon if they keep making drivers like the Nike SasQuatch Sumo 5000 it won’t be long before more amateurs give them some serious attention.
