A  resort and golf centre in the North-east of Scotland which provides luxury holiday homes for visitors, is now recognised as being one of the finest resorts in the country after recently receiving a top classification from the national tourist board.

Inchmarlo Resort and Golf Club, Royal Deeside, has been awarded a four star grading from VisitScotland for the exclusive serviced accommodation on offer at the resort.

The classification is considered an indication of the quality on offer at establishments which hold the award, and is a sign of superior comfort and of excellent customer service.

Inchmarlo received the award for the resort’s 14 villas and eight apartments, which are all situated in an idyllic woodland setting and offer open-plan living with contemporary en-suite facilities and fully equipped kitchens, as well as fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.

Inchmarlo’s Golf Centre had previously attained four star VisitScotland status as a prestigious Activity Centre.

Kay Darbyshire, Inchmarlo’s operations supervisor, is delighted to have received the award and believes the classification reflects the quality of services on offer at the resort.

She said: “We are thrilled to receive the award and see it as not only a reflection of the luxury properties on offer at Inchmarlo, but also recognition of the effort our staff put in to ensuring our customers receive first-class service.

“With phase two of our accommodation – which involved the addition of 20, three bedroom luxury villas – having just been completed, and with plans in place to extend our Gillies Restaurant & Bar, the award heralds an exciting time for Inchmarlo Resort and Golf Club.”

As well as the serviced accommodation,  Inchmarlo Resort & Golf Club, situated just outside Banchory, also features two stunning golf courses – the 18-hole Laird’s course and the 9-hole Queen’s –  and a 25 bay floodlit driving range.
