Proquip has released a limited edition version of its Silk Touch rain suit in the same striking colours worn by the victorious European Team at The K Club.
The special commemorative suit will feature the outstanding European blue with gold arm stripes design worn by Ian Woosnam’s team.
Each of the specially created 1,000 suits will come with a letter personally written by Ian Woosnam, who worked closely with ProQuip on the suit’s design.
Woosnam, who was recently awarded the OBE, says in his letter: “ProQuip played an essential part in Europe’s victory. Our team looked fantastic and felt fantastic in their Silk Touch rain suits, and were able to play their best golf no matter what the Irish weather threw at us
“It was wonderful to have had the opportunity to work so closely with ProQuip in the development of the European Team weatherwear and to incorporate my ideas on what a professional wants from a waterproof suit. For me, the single biggest factor was creating a waterproof that was quiet to swing in – so for ProQuip to develop a featherlight suit that is virtually silent to play in was a remarkable achievement and, in my opinion, the single most significant development in golf weatherwear for more than a decade.”
The suggested retail price of the Commemorative Ryder Cup suit is £300, while Silk Touch 2007 retails at £239.
