Sept25 Woods drugs
Last updated:
World number one Tiger Woods has voiced his support for the introduction of tough drug penalties in golf.
The World Golf Foundation has compiled a list of banned substances and Woods believes anyone caught using these deserves a significant penalty.
“Given how honourable our sport is and always has been, I think the penalty has got to be significant,” said the 13-time Major winner.
US Tour commissioner Tim Finchem revealed that testing could start as early as spring next year.
The issue of drugs in golf was brought rampaging into the media spotlight earlier this year when South African legend Gary Player claimed he knew players were using performance enhancing drugs.
