TaylorMade’s Today’s Golfer award-winning Tour Burner driver was on top of the world today in the hands of Europe’s No1 golfer Justin Rose.
The top tour Pro belted one using his new TaylorMade Tour Burner driver off the top of the O2 in London’s Docklands to signal the start of the build up to this weekend’s BMW Championship at Wentworth.
It was a fitting place to use the new flagship TaylorMade Tour Burner driver as it soared to the top of our recent driver test as winner of the premium driver category.
The 2007 Order of Merit winner was joined on a bespoke tee, 50 metres up, by Mick
Hucknall. Hucknall, who today launched his first solo album, will be performing with Simply Red at the exclusive, charity ‘Concert on the Course’ on Wednesday evening at Wentworth Club, Surrey ahead of the BMW PGA Championship which begins on
Thursday.
Speaking from the roof of The O2, Rose said: ‘I have played golf in some amazing
locations throughout the world, but this definitely has to be one to remember. The BMW PGA Championship is London’s most prestigious golf event, so to launch the tournament from such an iconic landmark is very fitting.’
Hucknall added: This is the first time I’ve played The O2, and I certainly didn’t expect it to be like this! I’ve only just taken the game up, so to get some pointers from Justin is brilliant. I have huge respect for what he has achieved and look forward to seeing how he gets on this week.’
The BMW PGA Championship is the flagship event on The European Tour and always attracts a high-class international field. Rose will face tough competition to land the €750,000 first prize, of the record €4,500,000 prize fund.
The BMW PGA Championship takes place from 22-25 May. The ‘Concert on the Course’ on Wednesday 21 May, will raise funds for GOLFAID, supporting Sport Relief and children’s charity Rainbow Trust.
