Donald Trump has finally unveiled detailed plans for a £1 billion links golf resort in Scotland.

He wants to build the “world’s greatest golf course” at the Menie Estate in Aberdeenshire.

The 1,400-acre plot will include championship links courses, a five-star hotel, golf academy and holiday homes.

Trump’s ultimate goal is to see an Open or Ryder Cup hosted on his Scottish course.

He lodged plans with Aberdeen council on Monday and expects a decision by next June. If they’re approved, work could begin by July 2007.
