Best Golf Gloves 2025: The most important accessory to get right
Last updated:
Playing golf with an ill-fitting glove can seriously hinder your performance. I’m going to help you find the best golf glove and give you one less excuse on the course.
Jump to:
The humble golf glove might not seem particularly important, but when you consider that your hands are the only part of you that touches the golf club and that the hand you’ll be wearing your glove on plays the biggest role in your grip, you start to realise why picking out the best golf glove for you is worth some thought.
There are thermal gloves designed to keep your hands warm in the winter, leather gloves to keep you cool and prevent sweat in the hot summer golf season, and all-weather gloves that can be worn year-round, but are best suited to cooler weather.
Not forgetting rain gloves, which are an absolute lifesaver if you play in wet weather. Rain gloves are specifically designed to help you maintain your grip while battling the elements. All of the best golf rain gloves grip better the wetter they are.
The best golf glove shortlist
Wherever in the world you’re reading this from doesn’t dictate which golf glove you have to wear. Personally, I like wearing leather gloves all year round – despite playing the bulk of my golf in the North East of England- because of their premium feel, and I find they fit my hand better. However, you might play in a warmer climate, or only choose to play in pleasant weather, and have a preference for playing with synthetic, all-weather gloves because of their durability and versatility.
I’ll discuss considerations further in the detailed buying guide below the best gloves of 2025. Finding the right golf glove requires more thought than you might initially think, but once you know what you’re looking for, it becomes a breeze.
Some golfers treat golf gloves like tea; once they find a glove they like, they stick with it and don’t switch. However, other golfers are much less loyal and play with any glove in their bag, whatever’s on offer in the pro shop or whatever’s in stock on Amazon for quick delivery.
There isn’t a right or wrong with either approach, but making sure the glove fits and provides sufficient grip is always paramount. If Amazon is your chosen destination for stocking up on golf gloves, be sure to consult our guide to the best golf gloves on Amazon.
Best Leather Golf Gloves 2025
The No.1 glove on Tour
Best overall leather golf glove

Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, it feels incredible. The leather is soft and supple from the first time you put it on, with feedback immediate and extremely tangible. The fineness of the leather that provides that unmuffled feel at impact is, however, also the only fault that can be found here.
Because of how thin it is, the Titleist Players glove is one of the fastest gloves for wear on the market, giving sometimes only a few weeks of use, depending on your grip strength and the number of rounds played. Fine if you're a Tour Star with as many as you want each week, less fine if you pay for them.
Aside from the feel and wear, the Players glove also looks the part, with a subtle off-white color grade that looks every bit the part of a clean, player-centric style. And when the only problem that golfers can level at you is that you can be too soft, you can see why it's chosen by the best in the world time and time again.

Callaway's best-represented glove on Tour
Best performance golf glove

The Griptac 2.0 technology helps to provide an unbeatable grip. The Tour Authentic is packed with technology to help you play better golf. The ultra-soft AAA cabretta leather is super comfortable, but the quality of leather means this isn't the most durable leather glove on the market. However, for the quality, you really can't grumble because it will still easily last a couple of rounds.
The Tour Authentic is great for keeping your hand cool in even the warmest weather conditions. This leather glove has been designed to increase moisture reduction and increase breathability, ensuring you stay cool and comfortable on the golf course.
Callaway offer a wide range of leather golf gloves, but the Tour Authentic sets the standard as the best glove Callaway has available.

A soft and supple leather golf glove that stands the test of time
Leather golf gloves are notoriously less durable than all-weather, synthetic golf gloves, but the Staff Model is as durable, if not more durable, than some all-weather gloves. Durability is the only area where Staff Model gloves compare to all-weather models. Every other area highlights why this is a Tour-proven leather golf glove.
Comfort, performance, and grip are all real positives for the Staff Model. The only criticism is this glove is only available for men. However, Wilson do have another leather glove available in men's and women's sizes, the Conform.
Pros
- Highly durable leather golf glove
- Extremely comfortable
- Secure fit and breathable
Cons
- Not available in women's sizes
Golfers | Men |

The most comfortable golf glove
As well as being comfortable, this glove is packed with performance that sees it being used by Srixon Tour players on all professional circuits. The Tour quality cabretta leather, paired with the lycra inserts across the knuckles, makes the Cabretta super breathable and brilliant for wearing in warm conditions.
The Srixon Cabretta is a slightly tighter-fitting glove, so depending on how your regular glove fits out of the box, you might want to consider sizing up with the Cabretta. However, the tighter your glove, the better it performs, so if you can push through the initial tightness, it should help give you a better grip of the club.
Pros
- Premium feel and comfort
- Brilliant grip
- Highly durable
Cons
- Slightly small fit

Mizuno's Tour-proven golf glove keeps your hand cool during the most nervy moments
Most breathable golf glove

The Tour provides full premium cabretta leather coverage that has been punched with air-circulating holes to keep your hand cool and comfortable in warm weather. Also, if you get nervy on the first tee, you don't need to worry about your hand sweating up!
The fit of the Mizuno Tour is true to size. Out of the packaging, it is tight, but it does give a little as you continue to wear it. The leather holds its shape well, which increases the lifetime of the Tour.
I found the Tour got dirty quite quickly, but it doesn't wear as fast, which is a huge positive. You can always play a good few rounds with one Tour glove before even considering switching it for a fresh glove.
Mizuno offer a second leather glove - the Mizuno Elite. I prefer the Tour because of how well it keeps your hand cool, but if you want to save some cash and continue playing with a leather glove, the Elite is a good option.
Pros
- Super comfortable and breathable
- Good durability
- Premium, Tour-proven quality
Cons
- Difficult to fault
Golfers | Men / Women |
Sizes | Men's - S-XL | Women's - S-L |

A beautifully crafted golf glove
The combination of cabretta and synthetic leather works exceptionally well with the Hybrid Pro because it provides amazing grip while helping to increase durability.
The Hybrid Pro is extremely comfortable and breathable. The microfiber upper certainly helps with breathability, as does the elastic stitching, which is also what makes this glove so comfortable.
The colorway and pattern I like most is the one sporting the Italian flag, paying homage to Duca's heritage. The Hybrid Pro is available in multiple patterns and colorways. While the colors and patterns change, quality and comfort are always the same.
Pros
- Premium quality
- Great designs and colorways
- Comfortable and breathable

FootJoy's best golf glove for grip in all weathers
Best warm-weather golf glove

The StaSof is absolutely bulletproof when it comes to performance, comfort, and breathability. The only downside is it's not the most durable leather glove, but that's not the reason you wear StaSof. You wear StaSof because you value performance over durability.
Don't get me wrong, you'll still manage to play a few rounds with one glove, but the Exclusive Advanced Performance Leather does wear out quicker than other brands' leather gloves, but not as quickly as FootJoy's PureTouch.
The moisture-wicking properties of the StaSof make this glove a must if you play in warm weather. Your hand will thank you for it, and so will your golf game.
Pros
- Perfect in warm weather
- Outstanding moisture-wicking technologies
- Tour-proven
Cons
- Durability isn't as strong as other leather golf gloves
Golfers | Men / Women |
Sizes | Men's - S-XL | Women's - S-L |

Best All-weather Golf Gloves 2025
The best-selling golf glove in the world
Best overall all-weather golf glove

What golfers love about the WeatherSof is its comfort, performance, and value-for-money. FootJoy's FiberSof material is very comfortable, and the MicroTac technology provides amazing grip in all weather conditions. The PowerNet mesh helps to keep your hand cool in warmer conditions, and the Proprietary ComforTab closure provides a secure fit.
The WeatherSof has been refined over the years to deliver an all-weather golf glove worthy of being worn no matter where you play. That's the beauty of the WeatherSof: whether you're playing on a wet and blustery day in Scotland or a tropical and blistering hot day in Barbados, this glove will perform.
It's very hard to find a negative for the WeatherSof, I guess, when you're the best-selling golf glove in the world, it makes sense.

An all-weather golf glove that performs like a leather golf glove
As you can see from the second and third images, the Vice Duro doesn't even look as though it's seen any action. I promise I played a full round with the Duro, and that is a before-and-after photo of the same glove.
The durability is what makes the Vice Duro such great value-for-money. However, it's not just durability alone because it would count for nothing if it performed terribly.
That's definitely not the case; the synthetic suede and leather combination is super comfortable and provides incredible grip. There are numerous colors and patterns to pick from, so which one are you going to choose?
Pros
- Amazing value
- Highly durable
- Good range of colors and patterns
Cons
- Not as widely available as other gloves
Golfers | Men / Women |
Sizes | S-XL |
Material | Synthetic suede and leather |

TaylorMade's tech-packed golf glove
The Hypertec synthetic material is combined with leather to create a breathable and durable glove. Comfort isn't the Stratus Tech's strongest area, but it's definitely comfortable enough for you to wear until it starts falling to pieces - which could be a while.
The Stratus Tech holds its shape very well because the 4-way stretch material is extremely flexible. The enhanced breathability of this all-weather glove comes from the micro perforations.
This is a water-resistant all-weather golf glove, so you can wear it in wet conditions, but you're still better off with a pair of rain gloves in serious downpours.
Pros
- Packed with technology
- Great grip and durability
- Fantastic price
Cons
- Not as comfortable as other gloves
Golfers | Men / Women |
Sizes | Men's - S-XL | Women's - S/M/L |

The all-weather golf glove that... well... fits like a glove
I was surprised by how comfortable I found the Grip Plus because it doesn't actually fit my hand the best. This glove will fit a shorter and wider hand better than mine, which is longer and narrower.
As a golfer who prefers leather golf gloves, this is definitely an all-weather glove I'd consider switching to because not only is it as comfortable as a leather glove, it also performs as well as one, too.
Adding to the appeal of the Grip Plus is its brilliant price. If, like me, you favour leather golf gloves, but you want to try an all-weather model, this is the perfect glove to bridge the gap.
Pros
- Supreme comfort
- Durable and breathable
- Premium feel
Cons
- Fits shorter fingers and big palms better than long fingers and small palms

Best Golf Gloves 2025: Buying Guide
How to choose the best golf glove
Many golfers can initially overlook the golf glove as an important piece of equipment, and they would be wrong to do so. The hands are the only part of the body that remain in contact with the club throughout the golf swing and are what keep you in control at all times, so a golf glove that can give you more grip in all conditions sounds rather important. What are the key things to consider when buying a new golf glove? See below for some factors to consider.
Which hand?
When starting golf, it can be rather confusing to understand which glove goes on which hand, so we’re here to help. The lead hand in a conventional grip is the one that has the glove on it. So, for a right-handed golfer, they would wear a glove on their left hand, and for a left-handed golfer, they would wear the glove on their right hand.
Size
Studies have shown that 98% of golfers wear a glove that’s too big for them. A golf glove should feel very tight when you first put it on. You shouldn’t be able to pinch any material on the palm or fingers. If you can cover all of the Velcro with the fastening tab, that’s another sign it’s too big. Don’t be alarmed if your brand-new glove feels a bit restrictive at first, it will loosen up within a few minutes or a few shots on the range.
Leather vs Synthetic
Leather golf gloves give the softest feel, which is why they’re preferred by most professionals and discerning amateurs. The downside of leather golf gloves is they don’t tend to last as long as synthetic ones, and they’re generally more expensive. Synthetic golf gloves are sometimes better in wet conditions, too.
Durability
If it’s durability you want, then a synthetic glove is the most durable and will last longer than a leather glove. You will sacrifice elements of fit and feel with synthetic, but you will have a glove that’ll last.
Finding a golf glove that has a great fit and feel is one thing, but finding a glove that’s also durable long-term can be hard. Nothing in golf is essentially cheap, and finding a glove that is durable, comfortable, and fits great for you can mean buying a variety of gloves until you find the right one.
Feel
Even though most gloves look the same out of the pack, they’re not. Like clothes, each glove will fit a hand shape slightly better than the other, and getting a comfortable glove is vital. If you’ve never played a round of golf in an uncomfortable golf glove, I wouldn’t! When you’re next trying on a glove in the shop, pick up a club and make sure it feels secure on your hand; you’ll thank me later.
