What we say...

Callaway Apex UW ’24 clubs combine the benefits of high-lofted fairway woods with the versatility of hybrids to create a multi-purpose model for better players.

Callaway developed the Apex UW ’24 based on feedback from their array of world-class Tour pros, including Jon Rahm and Xander Schauffele, who told them they wanted a higher launching club that could land steep into greens with distance, without being all about the power.

What Callaway have created is a multi-purpose club that can compete with the best fairway woods and best hybrids, allowing better players to use with confidence off the tee into tight landing areas, out of the fairway into par-5s, or from the rough. Designed to create a neutral flight, the UW allows better players to work it both ways.

They’ve brought their best technologies to Apex UW ’24 – including Batwing, an AI-designed Face Cup, an all-new Cutwave Sole Design, and Optimized CG.

Callaway Apex UW ’24 – Feature, tech, benefits

Tour-Inspired Compact, Workable Shape & Optimized Length

The distinct clubhead shaping is inspired by in-depth feedback from Tour pros. They require a compact profile to enhance shot-shaping and improve control. Club lengths are set between a fairway wood and a hybrid, allowing for versatile playability while still being easy to hit.

Fast Ball Speed From Batwing Technology & an A.I. Designed C300 Face Cup

The AI-designed Batwing structure – first seen in Paradym – is pushed to the perimeter to stiffen the body, allowing the high-strength C300 maraging steel face cup to flex for fast and consistent ball speeds right across the face.

Enhanced Turf Interaction from Cutwave Pro Sole

The Apex UW is designed for versatile shot-making. An all-new Cutwave Pro Sole is a streamlined design, engineered specifically to cut through the turf more efficiently.

High Launch, Consistent Control and Tighter Dispersion

The center of gravity is precisely positioned in a neutral location for an exceptional combination of high launch, steeper landing angles, consistent spin characteristics and reduced draw bias.

What Callaway say about the Apex UW ’24

Dave Neville, Senior Director, Brand Management, and Brian Williams, Vice President of Callaway R&D Objectives, gave us the inside story of the Apex UW ’24.

Brian: (This was) a very fun project that came from the Tour team giving us specific bits of information about what kinds of shots they want to hit and developing a club that could deliver that – a higher launching product that could land steep into greens with distance, but not necessarily unabashed distance.

It’s a very precise club producing neutral ball flight, players can work it either way that they want, and we’ve really seen Tour players lead the way, and our Staff Pros and Master Staffers start to talk about it.

Dave: This is geared toward elite players, Tour players, better amateurs, that really fills that gap between a fairway wood and a hybrid. We’ve brought our best technologies to this version – the Batwing Technology, an all-new Cutwave Sole Design, and Optimized CG.

Brian: It is a club that’s going after ball speed and distance in a different way with the ability to work the ball in a more neutral ball flight, while landing steep into greens.

One that a player can hit a long distance but to a number that they are comfortable with and different types of conditions that give players lots of options.
