New breathable golf shoe from footwear company Geox

World-renowned shoe specialists Geox have unveiled a stunning new range of breathable golf shoes as they look to move into the golf market.
The Italian company have long been the number one casual footwear brand in their home country but now they are determined to breathe new life into the golf market with a new range.
The new golf range combines the patented Geox Net system with a breathable, waterproof membrane, the finest full-grain leather uppers and a lightweight, moulded EVA sole to provide the ultimate environment for a golfer’s feet.
Described as ‘the shoe that breathes’, Geox’s Net range – designed specifically for use in golf – allows the foot to breathe over the entire surface of the sole, without allowing water penetration, guaranteeing a more comfortable, and hygienic, round.
Geox Golf’s global brand manager, Per Aagren, explained: “The highest proliferation of sweat glands on the human body is on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet.
“Perspiration increases dramatically in the foot during a round of golf which can cause the foot to feel uncomfortable. And this can be exacerbated further by climatic conditions such as humidity, rain and mud, causing unpleasant sensations, unhygienic effects and in some cases fungal infections such as ‘athlete’s foot’.
“Therefore for the comfort of the player it is essential to have shoes which allow for that perspiration to be wicked away while preventing moisture finding its way into the shoe. And that’s exactly what the patented Geox Net system achieves.”
The shoe’s lightweight, EVA midsole provides responsive cushioning without compromising the stability of the shoe during the swing motion and breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics are used as linings to provide maximum dissipation of moisture.
And combining the finest full-grain, water-repellent, durable and soft leather uppers with Geox’s patented breathable, waterproof membrane, provides a dry and pleasant environment for the foot.
Tests performed by the Geox research laboratories show that a sole using NET technology will expel sweat produced by the foot both at rest and in action.
The range is being launched at the London Golf Show at ExCeL, from April 30- May 2 and the Golf Live event at Stoke Park from May 14-16.
