Lawrie goes back to Wilson Staff

Former Open Champion Paul Lawrie has re-signed with Wilson Staff – the equipment manufacturer that helped him to his only Major victory.
The 41-year-old took the title back in 1999, after a collapse of massive proportions from Frenchman Jean Van De Velde at Carnoustie.
Lawrie, who will be using Wilson’s new FG Tour irons and the brilliant Tw9 wedges, had this to say: “I’m delighted to be back playing with Wilson Staff clubs and believe my game will benefit alot from using them in the coming months.
“I really like the feel of the new FG Tour irons which I’ve been playing since last August and the Tw9 wedges are just outstanding,” he added.
Lawrie’s decision to come on board with Wilson Staff means that the company has the last two European Major winners, with three-time victor Padraig Harrington also on the books.
