First-hit video: Cleveland Mashie

Cleveland have gone back to basics with their latest utility club – the Mashie.
It is designed with a raw finish rather than glossy paint seen on most modern rescue clubs so the look is very retro, as is the name.
But Cleveland say the old-fashioned focus stops there, with the Mashie packed full of technology to help your game.
It features a dual glide rail with a centre keel to help it move through the turf and rough more easily – essentially meaning it should be more playable from a multitude of lies.
It also features Miyazaki’s ultralite C Kua 59 Series hybrid shaft to lighten the overall clubweight without changing the swingweight.
The club generated some interest when it landed in TG’s office and equipment editor David Connor took the club out onto the course to get a first impression. You can see how he got on in the video below.
