A new launch monitor is set to bring golf club custom fitting to more golfers in the UK after being released on these shores for the first time.
Foresight Sports have brought the GC2 ball flight monitor to the UK after a hugely successful launch in the United States where it is said to have revolutionised club fitting and teaching because of its portability and price tag.
The brand say it will give more club pros than ever the chance to offer a hi-tech club fitting solution to golfers because of its low price point when compared to other launch monitors.
At £4,995 Foresight say it can be 80 per cent cheaper than some competitors while claiming the numbers it returns are among the most accurate in the industry.
Richard Temple, Titleist Golf Clubs’ product and fitting manager (EMEA), said they would be using the new GC2 launch monitor.
He said: “We are recommending GC2 because of the quality of the numbers it puts out. Our US research and development team has worked very closely with Foresight Sports approving the system in terms of its performance, relating to launch angles, spin rate and ball speed.
“The feeling is it provides numbers consistent with our own launch monitors to the point where we feel this is the great option for accounts which are looking for an accurate launch monitor at a more reasonable cost.”
The unit weighs just 1.7kg, takes 40 seconds to set up and has an eight-hour battery life and simple plug-and-play operation.
It works using an ultra-high-speed dual camera to measure ball flight and spin at club impact and launch, recording ball speed, spin (side, back and total), direction and launch angle to calculate carry and total distance.
