If you’re lucky enough to be at The Open at Royal Portrush this week, here’s a bit of advice: don’t walk to the merch tent… run. The top pieces aren’t hanging around for long. From the moment the gates opened on Monday, items were flying off the shelves. This year’s Open Championship gear is on another level.
From limited-edition accessories and headcovers to premium polos and framed prints, the shop has been packed with fans trying to get their hands on something special before it disappears. There’s serious FOMO in the air.
This is my third Open, and the excitement to get into the Open Shop and see what’s on display is still as strong as the first time. What used to be a quick souvenir grab has become a genuine part of the Championship experience.
