For some golfers, when they hear Wilson they think cheap and low-quality. However, that couldn't be further from the truth! Wilson manufactures quality golf equipment at an extremely reasonable price. Their Staff Model golf balls are a perfect example of their fine work. They might not be the softest ball (which won't be to everyone's liking) but they are packed with technology which helps them perform exceptionally well.

Not only do we think they perform as well as other premium golf balls, we have the proof to back it up. In our robot test, these balls were one of the best off the tee, and approaching greens they were as strong as any other ball in its category. You might not find as many players using this ball on Tour as other models from other brands but they are definitely an option for the amateur to consider.

In the UK these balls are super cheap at the moment and should definitely be a ball you try if you regularly play with Tour standard golf balls or if you want to test balls of this quality. Unfortunately, Staff Models aren't as cheap in the US but they're still worth purchasing at $45.

A brilliant option for golfers looking for a deal on premium TaylorMade golf balls

Best short-game performance golf ball deal
Price: $49.95
Finding a ball that behaves around the greens is very important. TaylorMade's TP5 is definitely a ball to consider for those who prioritize short-game performance over distance. In our robot test, we found this ball to be one of the best when approaching greens with a pitching wedge. That being said, off the tee, TP5 is still very competitive and generates a lot of speed and distance (and spin).

This model of TP5s has been on the market for a couple of years and that might be why they are dropping in price, but take advantage of it, they're still the same balls used by Nelly Korda and Collin Morikawa, no matter how much they cost. TP5xs are slightly more expensive but if you value distance over short-game performance then give them a go.

There aren't too many pros playing with Birdgestone's Tour B XS golf balls, but perhaps the GOAT is the only person who needs to use them in order for them to sell? These balls are designed perfectly for Tiger, so if you play exactly like the 15-time Major champion then this is the ball for you. Obviously, there'll be millions of people who play exactly like Tiger so go ahead and take advantage of them being one of the cheapest premium golf balls.

We've had the pleasure of thoroughly testing the Tour B XS golf balls in our robot test, and they didn't perform as well as we expected, but on the course, they're as good as any other premium golf balls around the greens. Where they lose points is off the tee - but they aren't built for distance.

Every golf ball in the Tour B range is currently at a discounted price, so whichever one suits you best, now's the time to pick up a box (or more).

There's very little dislike about TaylorMade's Tour Response golf balls - if anything. In our robot test, there was nothing groundbreaking about this ball, but having played with it for some time and it being in the bag of other TG team members we find it to be one of the best golf balls on the market for golfers who want premium feel and performance but don't feel the need to spend the money those balls require.

The offer available is for the Tour Response white golf balls (probably the most popular anyway), not any other colors. It's a fraction of the price compared to the yellow and Stripe versions of the Tour Response and well worth taking advantage of.

The three-piece golf balls aimed at amateur golfers is a very competitive category. One way of making your balls sell more than the competition is by undercutting with price. That's exactly what Srixon have done with their Q-Star Tour golf balls. It's not only the price that makes these balls an amazing deal, their performance is arguably better than most in this category.

We found this ball to be very strong from tee to green. In our robot test it didn't blow us away in any particular field, but it's a solid all-rounder you can depend on delivering quality performance. This deal exists on both white and yellow models so you can stock up for winter and next summer!

Who doesn't love a bargain? These golf balls are cheap enough and now they're even cheaper (sadly they've only dropped in the UK)! Even at full price they are an absolute steal for the quality of the product. Would you expect anything less from TaylorMade? We have been blown away by these golf balls and we think they are a brilliant option for golfers of all abilities who don't want to break the bank when purchasing golf balls.

At the moment they are available for a cracking price on Amazon in the UK, and if you haven't given them a go yet I'd strongly suggest adding some to your basket and seeing what you think - what have you got to lose? Even if you're based in the US they're still worth every bit of $20. From tee to green they perform much better than a two-piece ionomer golf ball. If you don't like them send the complaints my way.

A three-piece golf ball... for this price?

Best three-piece golf ball deal
Price: $60.00
Playing with a three-piece golf ball can add more performance over a two-piece golf ball, but sometimes you might not want to stretch to pay what most three-piece golf balls cost. Thankfully, TaylorMade have bridged the gap with the Soft Response. They are a three-piece golf ball packed with technology and performance to challenge the best three-piece golf balls, but because they have an ionomer cover it doesn't warrant as high a price. This doesn't mean they lack soft feel, it's mainly greenside spin that's lost. However, this loss of spin is made up for with control and responsiveness.

Having tested this ball we were impressed with how well it reacted to ranging swing speeds but it definitely works best for moderate swing speeds. While this ball isn't necessarily on a deal, it's still a fantastic price for a three-piece golf ball and definitely one to consider.

Titleist's softest golf ball is a brilliant budget-friendly option

Best Titleist golf ball deal
Price: $34.90
Alternative Retailers
Walmart
$25.37
When you think of Titleist you'll quickly think of Pro V1s and Pro V1xs, but not everyone needs to play with balls of that standard. If you like a soft-feeling golf ball and don't have the quickest swing speed, Titleist's TruFeel is a brilliant model to consider. It may only be a two-piece golf ball but it's very reasonably priced considering it's Titliest.

Around the greens we found this ball to be easy to control, despite not displaying the most spin among golf balls of a similar ilk. Off the tee, it still delivered good distance and at the price they are at the moment, they're a quality Titlist golf ball at a very fair price.

Best golf ball deals: Buying Guide

How to find the best deal on golf balls for you

Just because certain golf balls are available at a good price doesn’t mean you should be stockpiling. You might be buying golf balls that don’t suit your game, but the price can be very enticing. Luckily, regardless of your skill level, there are golf ball deals for every standard of golfer.

Even though the best offer might be on premium golf balls, if you don’t need to play with balls of that standard, try to refrain from jumping on the deal and look for deals on balls at your level. In turn, this will be the best deal because it will best suit your game and help you play consistent golf.

Before diving into the best deal/discount you see there are a few things to consider that might help you make a smarter purchase.

Ability

You might want to try those premium golf balls that are on a brilliant deal, but they could end up being a complete waste of money if your game isn’t at that standard. In order not to make a reckless purchase you need to be as honest with yourself as possible about your skill level. If your game suits golf balls engineered for amateur golfers then play with balls of this nature – even if the discount isn’t as good.

Budget

If you like to only spend a certain amount on your golf balls, then buying them when on a deal is a brilliant way to get the balls you need without spending top dollar. Sometimes the balls might be full price but they can fall within your budget and be a replacement for what you might lean towards normally. No matter what your budget is, there are always deals to take advantage of with golf balls, it’s just a case of looking!

Current vs. previous model

Every model of golf ball is enhanced to make it better than the previous model. There are instances where people will be playing with a specific golf ball and then they see a previous version is cheaper, and they reach for that instead. It might pay dividends not to do this because the ball might behave differently and while you save some money, it might prove costly on the course. You’re best off sticking with the current model (or what you know) and waiting until that is on offer if you don’t want to pay full price.

Best golf ball deals: FAQs

What makes a golf ball a good deal?

This is completely dependent on the individual. However, as a rule, it tends to be balls that are discounted or cheaper than balls of a similar standard. For instance, if you tend to pay £50/$50 for a dozen golf balls if that model is available for £40/$40 that would constitute a good deal. Likewise, if there’s a similar ball available for that price, that’s a better deal than your normal £50/$50 golf ball.

How to get a good deal on golf balls?

To ensure you always get a good deal on golf balls, stockpile when they are on offer. This way you know you won’t miss out on it if you come back in a month or two’s time. Alternatively, you could swap balls and buy similar models from different manufacturers, and just buy the one that’s lowest priced whenever making a purchase – the only issue with this is you might change too much and it could negatively impact your game.

What golf balls are the cheapest?

The cheapest golf balls are the ones that have fewer layers and are built with an ionomer or surlyn cover. While these balls are the cheapest, they won’t suit every golfer. If your game requires you to play with golf balls with more technology then a cheaper alternative is direct-to-consumer golf balls, or you can buy the golf balls intended for your ability when they are available on a deal.

How many golf balls do you buy a year?

Typically, most golfers will go through five or six dozen golf balls every season. Some people will naturally go through more or less. Depending on how much you spend on your golf balls this can result in an investment of an. where between £60/$60 to £300/$300. Therefore, finding golf balls on a deal can be vital to cutting your costs.
