TaylorMade RBZ Speedlite Steel Package Set
RRP £1,069 | VIEW OFFER
TaylorMade’s RBZ range has been a hugely popular option for more than a decade now and this Speedlite variant is a great option for those starting out in the game, as well as high handicappers and intermediates.
Forgiveness is certainly the theme that runs through the driver, 3-wood and two hybrids (#4 and #5). Plus their lightweight design will help those who need a bit of help generating clubhead speed.
You also get six irons (6-SW), a mallet putter, a premium bag, plus a set of headcovers. There’s a two-year guarantee for peace of mind.

Benross HTX Package Set
RRP £749.00 | VIEW OFFER
Benross are renowned for their value-for-money products and this 16-piece set of clubs/bag is ideal for those starting out in the game and for Father’s Day, American Golf are offering them for just £429.
It comes with a driver, 3-wood, #4 hybrid and seven irons (5-PW) plus a mallet putter. Also includes a premium cart bag and vintage-style headcovers.
The woods have been designed to help high handicappers. Lightweight shafts – Benross has long been a maker of excellent golf shafts – and larger sweet spots should aid the transition from beginner to the mid-handicap range as long as you put in the hours.
Best Golf Gifts: Drivers
A new driver will be top of most golfer’s wish lists, but before splashing the cash it’s important to find out if your loved one has a preference in terms of brand and model. We’d also always recommend that players get fitted for their golf clubs to ensure they are getting a club that is ideally suited to their game.
Rather than spending your money on a club that then stays in the bag or ends up being sold to Golfbidder in six months we’d suggest having a conversation with the golfer in your life to find out exactly what they want. No, it won’t have the ‘surprise’ factor but at least you can ensure your money won’t have been wasted and they’ll have a big smile on their faces when they receive their gift.
You can find a few of our favourite new models below or head to our ‘Best Drivers’ guide and test for even more. And if you really don’t want to spoil the present surprise, you could always buy a gift voucher which lets your loved one go and choose exactly the right driver.

TaylorMade Stealth Driver
RRP £469 | VIEW OFFER
The TaylorMade Stealth Driver has made waves since launching earlier this year and it would make a fantastic Father’s Day gift for any lucky dad.
The Stealth’s revolutionary 60-layer carbon-fibre face is designed to remove inefficient mass from the front of the driver. TaylorMade say it gives better energy transfer at impact and additional ball speed.
The Stealth also has an MOI 15% higher than the Stealth Plus, meaning you can expect 200-300rpm more backspin (so the Stealth is a mid to low-spin driver) than the Plus, along with a mid-high launch and ball flight.

Callaway Rogue ST Max Driver
RRP £479 | VIEW OFFER
The Callaway Rogue ST Max is a phenomenal driver that looks great, performs superbly well and any dad would be delighted to receive one of these on Father’s Day.
The Max is the Rogue ST family’s most forgiving model. It has a traditional forgiving weight set-up, with a wider, more stretched body shape, and it isn’t a lower MOI driver with a forward CG for fast ball speeds as the previous Epic and Mavrik models have been.
Callaway has also built in a touch of draw bias to this model. The idea will help improve ball speeds for very slight heel strikers and give a hand to many golfers in attaining the ball flight shape they dream of.
Ping G425 Max Driver
RRP £399 | VIEW OFFER
The American Golf website gives you the option to tailor it in terms of loft, style of shaft, flex, shaft length, grip and grip thickness. And who in their right mind wouldn’t like a G425 for Christmas?
When Today’s Golfer’s equipment review team tested it, by examining the difference between our pro’s fastest and slowest ball speeds, and his longest and shortest shots, we saw that the G425 Max gave the smallest carry distance drop-off (seven yards), which means it will be forgiving and consistent on the course. And every golfer wants a consistent drive! Read our full review, here.

Benross Delta X Driver
RRP £229 | VIEW OFFER
Benross are now owned by American Golf, which means there’s no margin for a manufacturer and bigger savings for the consumer. There’s no covering up how all our value drivers gave up ball speed and carry on the premium priced competition – we’re talking 16 yards for the Delta X against our very longest. But it’s important to remember that at more average speeds, those gaps will narrow.
The Delta X is a pretty good-looking driver. We like how the crown indentation focuses attention on the impact zone and how the head has a really friendly look at address. For its intended audience it will do a decent job and a great gift for those on a tight budget.
Best Golf Gifts: Fairway Woods/Hybrids
As with any golf club, we’d always recommend players get a custom fitting to ensure they get a model in the specs that ideally suit their game. While it might spoil the present surprise, we’d recommened talking to the golfer in your life to ensure they get the right club, rather than spending your hard-earned cash on a fairway wood or hybrid that isn’t used and ends up on eBay in six months.
You can find a few of our favourite new models below or head to our ‘Best Fairway Woods’ guide and ‘Best Hybrids’ guide for even more. And, if you’d rather keep the gift a surprise, you could always buy a golf gift voucher which lets your loved one go and choose exactly the right fairway wood or hybrid.

Wilson Launch Pad Fairway Wood
RRP £200 | VIEW OFFER
Thanks to attacking the areas typical club golfers struggle with when hitting fairway woods, the Wilson Launch Pad flies straighter and further, more easily. It’s a great option as a Father’s Day present.
Designed with the same ultra-lightweight clubhead and shaft as the Wilson Launch Pad driver, the high-strength and super-thin Carpenter Custom 455 face delivers higher ball speeds.
Overall it is a brilliant, super easy launch and anti-slice fairway for average club-head speed players.
RELATED: Best Fairway Woods 2022

Cobra King LTDx Max Fairway Wood
RRP £249 | VIEW OFFER
Cobra’s LTDx fairway wood saw them ask real-world golfers what they wanted. Unsurprisingly, more distance, more accuracy and better forgiveness were the answers and it’s another excellent Father’s Day option.
So Cobra’s designers turned the clock back to 2016 and the brand’s King LTD range, evolving it into the LTDx family for 2022.
The LTDx woods feature PWR-COR Technology, which uses multi-material internal and external weights to reposition as much weight low and forward as possible to lower spin and deliver powerful ball speed upon impact.

Srixon ZX Golf Hybrid
RRP £229 | VIEW OFFER
Srixon woods and hybrids don’t get anywhere near the credit they deserve but, like the company’s forged ZX irons which have recently been spotted in the hands of Brooks Koepka, they’re really good.
The tiny head won’t be the best fit for golfers who spray shots all over the face, there’s bigger headed models that can help with that. But for reasonably consistent ball strikers the Srixon ZX hybrid is a beauty (read our full review, here).
This sort of head size is perfect for rifling through rough, nipping shots off the top of sand in a low lipped fairway bunker and, according to our data, it will get you out there alongside the best from tee, fairway and on a par three.
Best Golf Gifts: Irons and Wedges
More than any other part of a golfer’s arsenal, we’d definitely recommend that players get fitted for irons. If the golfer in your life has been dropping hints that they need a new set, have a conversation with them to find out exactly what they want. No, it won’t have the ‘surprise’ factor, but at least you can ensure your money won’t have been wasted.
You can find a few of our favourite new models below or head to our ‘Best Irons’ guide and ‘Best Wedges’ guide for even more. And if you really don’t want to spoil the present surprise, you could always give your loved on a gift voucher so they can choose the right club.

Callaway Apex MB Bladed Irons
RRP £942 | VIEW OFFER
Give 10 players the opportunity to design their dream muscleback iron and eight or nine of them will come up with the new Apex MB. And we say that because so many top-level golfers love straight and true top lines and leading edges.
Blades are utterly subjective as one man’s pleasure is another man’s poison, but for us the Callaway Apex MB is the blade of the year as it’s absolutely gorgeous (read our full review, here). If you’re completely brand agnostic you will not find a better looking blade than the Apex MB in 2021.

Cleveland RTX ZipCore Wedge
RRP £139 | VIEW OFFER
When Cleveland revealed the RTX ZipCore last year they shouted loud and clear about how a new lightweight aluminium pad in the heel (which meant there could be extra toe weighting) had led to a 10% increase in vertical MOI stability. Cleveland said the idea was to improve spin consistency between shots hit high and low on the face, which increases predictability on the golf course.
As part of our test, we thought we’d delve deep into the data and crunch the numbers to find out just how much spin each wedge dropped between a pure strike and a mishit (read our full review, here).
Where some models ran to 2,000 RPM difference, the Cleveland RTX ZipCore was tied top of the pile (with the Ben Hogan Equalizer), dropping just 553 RPM between shots, which is a seriously impressive performance.
Best Golf Gifts: Putters
The feel of a putter is all-important to a golfer so this is another category where you really need to let your golfing loved one in on the secret (or subtly ease the information out of them over dinner). The short stick offers the greatest variety of choices and trying them out, under the supervision of a qualified professional, is definitely the way to go.
You can find a few of our favourite new models below or head to our ‘Best Putters’ guide for even more. And if you really don’t want to spoil the surprise, you could always buy a gift voucher which lets your loved one go and choose exactly the right putter to ensure they get the perfect present.

Bettinardi Queen B 11
RRP £399 | VIEW OFFER
Today, there’s more talk around the benefits of stability MOI putters than ever before, but there will always be a place, and an appreciative crowd, for beautifully well-made traditional blade and mallet putters. And if we’re talking beauty, the Bettinardi Queen B putter deserves to be right at the front of any conversation (read our full review, here).
For putting in the UK all year round, we really like how the whole Betterinardi Queen B series have slightly heavier heads and a firmer feel than the rest of Bettinardi’s range. The Bettinardi Queen B #11 is the perfect compact, toe-hang mallet, and we love the crisp sharp appearance which you only get from CNC Milling every edge and surface.
Not easy to wrap but that’s the only downside to this as a gift.

TaylorMade Spider EX White
RRP £299 | VIEW OFFER
A putter that rated very highly when Today’s Golfer tested it in September (read our full review, here), TaylorMade’s Spider putters have played a huge roll in convincing tour pros to ditch their blade putters for more forgiving MOI and mallet style models over the last decade. The company has poured loads of time, effort, and know how into creating the Spider E.
As good as the design is, what’s really impressive is golfers now having three hosel options to choose from. It doesn’t matter if you have a straight, slight or strong arc putting stroke or if you prefer platinum, blue or navy colouring there’s a TaylorMade Spider EX out there to fit everyone’s eye.

Odyssey 2-Ball Ten Tour Lined
RRP £299 | VIEW OFFER
It took No.1 Jon Rahm no time at all to make the switch from his trusted TaylorMade Spider putter to the new Odyssey 2-Ball Ten when he signed for Callaway at the start of the tear. The switch was never really in much doubt though. Not only did Rahm play and love an Odyssey 2-Ball in college, but he also got his hands on 32% more MOI performance (over the original 2-Ball) which effectively made the switch a complete no brainer.
The Odyssey 2-Ball Ten comes in three versions (2-Ball, 2-Ball Triple Track and 2-Ball Tour Lined), and we really like the simplicity of the Tour Lined model (a single black line runs across the two golf ball sized discs, just like lots of tour players request), as it sets up really nicely behind a single-alignment stripe golf ball. You can read our full review, here.
Best Golf Gifts: Golf Balls

You’ll find even more brilliant deals in our complete guide to the best golf balls.

Customised Titleist golf balls
RRP From £23 (per dozen balls) | VIEW OFFER
A great little added extra courtesy of Titleist which means you can have a bit of fun. For an extra £4 you can add a 51-character message across three lines and in five different colours on each of the 12 balls. Never a bad idea to consider… ‘Please can you return to A Golfer – 07777 777777’. For an extra £8 you can put a message on both sides.

TaylorMade TP5/TP5x golf balls
RRP £49.99 (per dozen balls) | VIEW OFFER
TaylorMade’s five-layer approach to its elite-level tour balls gives more knobs and dials to tweak to tailor each ball to its target player. More tour players have switched back to the slightly firmer and faster TP5x for 2021, as there’s such a premium on speed and distance at the moment (full review, here).
When TaylorMade launched the TP5 in 2017, they spoke about choosing on the feel you prefer, rather than just looking at the comparison numbers between the two balls – it’s solid advice that’s still relevant today. The slightly softer TP5 has a little extra wedge and greenside spin (not full wedge shot spin), while the TP5x flies higher and is slightly longer with the driver and irons.
The yellow balls do show up better during the winter months so extra points gained for considering that important detail when buying a gift for a golfer.

Srixon Z-Star XV golf balls
RRP £39.99 (per dozen balls) | VIEW OFFER
This ball performed well in Today’s Golfer’s own testing (full review, here) and if you can get a dozen of these for around £30, that represents a great purchase.
If you’re swinging the driver at 90mph+ (93mph is the club golfer average), you should be looking at the Srixon Z-Star golf ball. And as you approach 105mph+, the firmer Z-Star XV (the Z-Star is 90 compression where the Z-Star XV is 102) becomes the better option.
Hideki Matsuyama won the Masters this year with an XV and it’s the ball of choice of 2019 Open champion and Ryder cup star Shane Lowry. Good facts to know when you hand these over as a gift to your golf-know-it-all recipient.

Srixon AD333 golf balls
RRP £26.99 (per dozen balls) | VIEW OFFER
For non-players, buying golf balls can seem like a pretty daunting prospect and it could be so easy to fall into the trap of being that well-meaning auntie or uncle who buys their precocious niece/nephew 50 lake balls because £8 seemed like a bit of a bargain. If in doubt you can’t go far wrong with a pack of AD333s, which has been held up as an excellent all-round value proposition for club golfers since hitting the market in 2006.
This year Srixon launched the ball’s 10th generation (full review, here) and it uses a lot of the tech you’ll find in the brand’s premium Z-Star balls and gives more distance and forgiveness than previous versions thanks to a slight reduction in compression and reformulated FastLayer Core.

Callaway Chrome Soft X Golf Balls
RRP £39.99 | VIEW OFFER
Is the Callaway Chrome Soft X a good ball? Well, as you’ll know if you’ve read any of our ‘best’ guides this year, it was our golf ball of choice for all of our testing, so it certainly won’t be a bad choice of golf gift.
At £39.99 it’s a great value premium golf ball, played by some of the world’s best players (Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, Phil Mickelson). The four-layer X is optimised for swing speeds over 105mph and is Callaway’s most workable ball. If that’s not for you then the standard Chrome Soft, which works best for players at 100mph and below, is available for the same price.
Best Golf Gifts: Rangefinders, GPS devices and GPS watches
‘Distance to the hole?’ It’s the most asked question in the sport and now golfers can get exact answers within a tiny margin of error range. There are three types of device available and whether it’s the laser-based rangefinder or the slightly-less-accurate-but-much-more informative GPS option, there are plenty of excellent choices across a wide-price range.
If you want a multi-purpose golf present then a GPS watch is ideal, as it can help with your loved one’s game but be worn as a normal watch every day.
You can find more information (including a full buying guide and pros and cons of each) and deals in our guides to the best rangefinders and best golf GPS watches.

Garmin Approach Z82 Laser/GPS Rangefinder
RRP £549.99 | VIEW OFFER
The Garmin Approach Z82 features a fantastic range of features to justify the top-end price. The viewfinder displays a 2D, full colour course map, with yardages to the front, middle and back of the green, making the Garmin Approach Z80 like a rangefinder and GPS all in one.
It can even give you a yardage suggestion for your tee shots, which is a neat feature. It is also a great option for anyone who can’t decide between a golf rangefinder and a GPS, as it gives you the best of both worlds. No keen golfer wouldn’t want one of these as a gift.

Garmin Approach S62 watch
The Garmin Approach S62 won’t be the golf watch for everyone, purely due to the price. But it is undeniably the best GPS golf watch money can buy and would be an amazing gift for any golfer. In fact it’s almost quicker to list the things it can’t do.
For starters, it is probably the most stylish golf watch available. It looks good enough to wear all the time, not just on the golf course. And you can do that, as the Garmin Approach S62 battery life will last up to a fortnight when you’re just using it as a normal watch. In golf mode, the Garmin S62 battery life is up to a staggering 20 hours, which is a lot longer any other comparable device.
If you’ve carved a shot way off into the woods and don’t even know where the green is anymore, or if you’re just playing a blind approach shot, the Garmin S62’s ‘PinPointer’ will act like a compass to point you directly towards the hole. The ‘Hazard View’ lets you quickly scroll through each hazard and get a yardage to the front and back, helping you decide whether to lay up or take on the carry distance.
It also collects stats. Pair it with the Garmin Golf app to get strokes gained information and lots more. It can use this information to act as a caddie on your wrist, factoring in wind speed and direction to suggest a club based on the distance you typically hit with each of the clubs in your bag. Even if you prefer to pick clubs for yourself, the Approach S62 makes that easier, offering adjusted distances to allow for uphill and downhill shots, and for wind speed and direction.
There’s no doubt in our minds that this is one of the very best golf gifts out there.

SkyCaddie SX550 GPS
RRP £379.90 | VIEW OFFER
With the GPS leading lights going big on watches it is easy to forget the benefits of a hand-held device and this offering from SkyCaddie is definitely worth considering as a gift for golfers who like to play as many different courses as possible.
Critically SkyCaddie have a team of course walkers which means each of the 35,000 courses have been mapped by one of their own employees. Obviously with a hand-held device rather than a watch you get a much bigger screen to study as this 5.5” version is seriously impressive and the level of detail on each hole is fantastic.

RRP £109 | VIEW OFFER
I appreciate beauty is in the eye of the beholder but you just don’t get better-looking golf apparel than this for my money. The Swedish clothing specialist has long been admired for its stylish offerings and the Merino feels amazing.

In terms of long-term care they are high maintenance but if you have the time and the inclination they are worth the investment.

The result of more than 50 years of coaching is this collection of teachings that are still as fundamentally sound as they ever were. And even if you don’t like the ideas you should love this book as an exercise in appreciating the history of golf. Always a great gift.

Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump by Rick Reilly
RRP £10.99 | VIEW OFFER
It is a pretty skinny offering from the famous Sports Illustrated writer but well worth the money. Trump’s shameless antics on the course are the stuff of legend and if you thought you have seen some terrible sportsmanship in your time, you haven’t seen nothing yet. Difficult to know which is the very worst (or best story) but hitting the ball into the water and then claiming the ball of a junior playing partner, who had hit a brilliant shot at a tough par three, takes some beating.

Between 2002 and 2012 the Ryder Cup threw up great story after great story. Starting at the Belfry with Sam Torrance’s side recapturing the trophy after the disgrace of Brookline in 1999 and then finishing with the Miracle at Medinah, this would make a fabulous gift for any Ryder Cup fan. In between we had Bernhard Langer’s team-of-all-the talents destroying the USA in 2004 and two years later Ian Woosnam led an emotionally-charged victory at the K Club before it all went a bit wrong under Nick Faldo in 2008. However it was back in European hands after the drama of Celtic Manor. More than 12 hours of golf-watching bliss.

Genius is perhaps the most over-used word when it comes to describing the status of sports stars but the five-time Major winner was unquestionably that. Utterly inspiring viewing.

Hooks up to your Apple iPad so you get immediate readouts and a subscription gives you the opportunity to play some of the most famous courses in the world from anywhere with the required space. Lacoste Eau De Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc EDT Spray 175ml
RRP £70 | VIEW OFFER
Another timeless classic and you can get a great bargain courtesy of Fragrance Direct. The iconic French brand has combined the likes of grapefruit, cardamom, rosemary and cedar leaf with Mexican tuberose and ylang-ylang to create a fragrance that is just the job after 18 hole of golf and a lovely warm shower. It’s the most non-golf Christmas gift on the list but still a great option for the golfer with everything. And he will make the connection!

Hugo Boss: Hugo Man Eau de Toilette 125ml
RRP £29.75 | VIEW OFFER
Hugo Boss are huge in the world of golf, whether it’s decking out the likes of Henrik Stenson and Martin Kaymer in their clothing or being an official partner of The Open Championship.
HUGO Man is for “men who push the boundaries” – presumably they’re not referring to the Out of Bounds, otherwise most of us will be wearing it.
It delivers crisp green apple, vibrant herbal aromas and the smoky, earthy scents of a wild forest, in a sleek bottle. Ideal for a post-round refresh before dinner in the clubhouse and a perfect gift.

Golf Ball Wooden Cabinet
RRP £39.99 | VIEW OFFER
This is possibly a bit left-field but every player knows that some golf balls are more special than others. It could be that they are signed, were used during holes in one or are proper collector’s items so why not do a collection proud with this stylish little cabinet. It can be wall or shelf mounted and for the right person, would represent a wonderful gift.

Daphne’s Novelty Giraffe Headcover
RRP £29.99 | VIEW OFFER

PGA Tour Model Golf Bag and Cart Pen Holder
RRP £17.99 | VIEW OFFER
Who doesn’t love writing with golf pens? Yes it is the quintessential gift for the golfer who has everything… or thinks they do. We all know it’s a bit pointless but it’s still ace. You get three pens (black, red and red) and the bag is really cool and the trolley actually folds down so if your hamster ever takes up golf he or she has a really handy golf trolley to take advantage of.

One Pair Of Magic Boxer Shorts

RRP £9.99 | VIEW OFFER
For starters it’s a mug with a big capacity and we know what men are like when it comes to their favourite mugs. This will become a firm favourite for any male golfer and guaranteed to make him smile when he unwraps it. The message is printed on both sides so the joke works from virtually every angle.

Funko Pop! Sports Jack Nicklaus
RRP £9.99 | VIEW OFFER
If you haven’t been Funko-ed you’re not really a someone, so it is only right and proper that the 18-time Major winner has been immortalised as a 4-inch-tall collectable figurine. Dressed in the outfit he wore on the final day of the remarkable 1986 Masters, Jack Nicklaus comes with the iconic window display box and for those who grew up watching the Golden Bear dazzle, this is a rather lovely way of remembering those heady days.

Shanker Golf Exploding Balls
RRP £7.24 | VIEW OFFER
We don’t advise using these on the first tee of the club championship but they are undeniably great fun at the right time and in the right place. You get three balls that will explode on impact. They certainly look the part but the big problem is getting them on the tee without the victim of your prank realising. For all golfing jokers, a very welcome stocking filler.

Novelty ‘I got a hole in one’ tee bag
RRP £3.50 | VIEW OFFER
Guaranteed to get a smile out of even the most curmudgeonly of golfers at Christmas and, as one who spends too long feeling around ‘that pocket’ in your golf bag searching for tees, also pretty useful. Also when you do get a hole-in-one you can take a picture and send it to the person who bought you the tee bag as a gift.
